Wall insulation foam
Preparatory work on wall insulation foam.
At its core, wall insulation foam refers to the finishing work, and therefore also requires surface preparation. Initially, the walls are leveled and cleaned of the protruding solution. The painted surface is treated chemically or thermally to create the necessary high adhesion to the wall surface.
If somewhere there is detachment of plaster or emptiness, then you need to plaster problem areas. Clean the surface of the walls from dust and dirt using water and apply a deep-penetrating primer.
Mounting foam.
To align the working plane and properly attach the first row of foam, you need to set the starting profile. Gluing of polyfoam to the surface of the wall occurs with the help of special dry mixtures, which are diluted with water in the proportions specified in the instruction.
Using a low-speed drill, the resulting solution is mixed and allowed to infuse for several minutes. After that, the solution is stirred again. The resulting mixture can be used for a half to two hours. Depending on the depth of the drops on the wall, the glue can be applied with a notched trowel to the entire surface, stripes or dotted beacons.
The installation of foam sheets takes place from the bottom along the starting profile upwards. Sheets are laid out in “brickwork” to avoid cracking. The gaps between the sheets should be minimal.
After the glue dries, the foam is fixed with the help of thermal pads with plastic studs. Holes are made in the middle of the foam sheet and at its corners. Read: Wooden house of glued laminated timber
Reinforcement of the foam surface.
To protect the foam from negative impacts, make it reinforcement. A special reinforcing mixture is applied to the surface of the foam plastic fiberglass, creating a single coating insulation. The reinforcing mixture is applied in two layers to qualitatively eliminate various irregularities.
Finishing insulation.
When the reinforcing layer is completely dry, the surface is primed. After that, you can do finishing insulation, which is the application of mineral, acrylic or silicone decorative plaster. After that, the surface is painted with a special facade paint.
On how long, the insulation foam will last for a long time, depends on the quality of the work performed, therefore it is better to trust the professionals and proven craftsmen.
