Mitlayder beds
Mittlider beds are characterized by a beautiful aesthetic appearance and allow you to get a high yield. The American worked hard to make his technology comfortable and reliable.
Features of beds on an open ground
Mitlayder managed to develop a universal technique. It is suitable for growing almost everything - tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, cucumbers, carrots. Mitlayder beds are suitable for open ground and for greenhouses. They are narrow, the passage between them is wide. They can be built, while spending a minimum of funds. Such designs are insensitive to strong winds and adverse weather conditions. Weeds in the garden where this technique is used, almost do not grow.
According to this method, it is envisaged to dig only the beds, while other areas are not affected.
The essence of the method of Metlider is that vegetables are planted thickly on open beds.
Growing can take place on long uniform rows or in boxes.
Mitlider beds are created in stages. First you need to choose the most suitable place for the bed and mark it with wooden sides.
To select a suitable site for planting, you need to determine where the sun is and where the shady side is. Different plants have their own preferences in lighting. In the shade it will be better to grow onion, mint, lemon balm, garlic, parsley. For tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, melons, watermelons, cucumbers and radishes, it is better to choose the sunny side.
It is recommended that the width of the bed does not exceed 0.5 m. The width of the passage is 1 m. Given the presence of the bead, the width of the landing place will be about 30 cm. The length of the bed is determined by the size of the section.
In the center of the beds you need to pour a hill of land. Its height is about 40 cm. After that, you need to rake the embankment in sides to the edge. This way you get the earthen sides. In the center there will be a recess. It should be leveled to 30 cm. You only need to dig this piece of land. Boards are needed for effective watering to retain nutrients at the roots.
Plants are planted in 2 rows. It is recommended to keep a distance of at least 25 cm between them. This will simplify the process of leaving and provide a good geometry of the city.
For growing plants in boxes, they are filled with artificial soil. Such beds can be narrow (about 35 cm wide) and wide (up to 150 cm).
Advantages of beds boxes:
- they can be used in the lowlands, where there is a likelihood of flooding the soil, resulting in rotting of the roots;
- on soils that are not suitable for growing vegetables on them, boxes can also be used;
- ready soil for planting insures against diseases, weeds and pests;
- faster maturation of the crop.
Mitlider beds are pretty straightforward. Accordingly, with the length of the beds, you need to prepare the boards, as well as the sides up to 40 cm. Next, you need to make a marking and, corresponding to it, knock down the frame of the boards and install it. At the bottom of such a bed you need to lay out agrofibre or polyethylene. After that, fill them with prepared soil.
Growing in greenhouses
The greenhouse according to Mitlayder is very neat and well ordered. For this, he developed a special design. The roof has 2 slopes, the vents are located at the top. Such a greenhouse should be ventilated evenly over the entire area. All these factors contribute to achieving a great harvest.
Using Mltlider technology, it is possible to harvest several harvests from each row. The secret is that due to the wide aisles, the plants are well lit.
It is strongly recommended to grow everything in boxes. Their height should be about 0.5 m, and the width should be around 1.5 m. Their heating occurs quickly, and there is no need to water them for a long time. For growing in a greenhouse, both types of beds (strips and boxes) are equally effective. The second option is more popular due to its accuracy.
According to Mitlayder, the beds-boxes are placed in the greenhouse without a bottom, on the natural soil. Fill them with prepared soil, which contains a complex of mineral fertilizers. It can not be changed for several years, because of the subsidence, the soil needs to be added. After a couple of seasons, this soil will become loose and rich in humus.
The advantage of growing in boxes is that it does not matter what soil is on the site, since you can independently determine the best composition for cultivation.
To make narrow beds Mitlider in the greenhouse, you must first carefully blow up the ground. The horizontal position of the beds is important, the swings should not exceed 3 cm. Then you need to make a marking. The width should be strictly fixed. Passages should be 2 times more beds. Beds need to protect the sides.
When located on a slope, according to the method, the beds should be in the form of terraces and strictly horizontal.
Most crops are recommended to be planted in 2 rows. If the vegetables are especially large - in one. Weeds need to be removed by simple pulling.

Fertilizer specificity
Growing vegetables, you need to take care of their nutrition. If you use the narrow beds of Mitlider, then the vegetables that grow on them are well provided with trace elements and vitamins. At the same time, given the fact that pesticides are not used, the plants are almost devoid of nitrates. The root system also contains a minimum of harmful substances.
A special feature is the ability of vegetables to self-purify from toxic substances when photosynthesis is activated. With sufficient watering and proper nutrition, nitrates are successfully recycled.
After the crop is harvested, plant waste must be placed in the aisles. According to the Mltlider scheme, the beds should be placed strictly horizontally. Often they are placed parallel to one another.
Marking of beds is carried out when the site is completed. It is recommended to carry out these procedures in the autumn.
Before you begin to sow, you need to enter fertilizer into the soil. According to Mitlayder, there are two mixtures. The first (lime) includes boron, the second - a mixture of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
After creating the beds, the first mixture of about 200 g per 1 m of length is introduced into it, and the second mixture is slightly smaller. The mixture should be spread evenly, then dig and level the soil. In the autumn, you do not need to make fertilizer bed - just dig it.
Mineral fertilizers are often replaced by herbs. Their solutions need to do watering the middle of the bed. Additionally, it is recommended to apply mulching. At the same time weeds almost cease to appear, and the moisture is delayed longer.
