How to care for violets
Tell me how to care for violets? A friend gave me a birthday for a luxurious violet with large double buds, it would be a pity to ruin a flower because of ignorance. I have a lot of green pets, but this one will be the first. I want to save the variety and multiply it.
Blue and purple, red and burgundy, white and pink, small simple and large terry - from the variety of indoor violets eyes just run up, well, the choice of a single plant is an impossible task. One would like to buy everyone, but, unfortunately, indoor space is not dimensionless, and good varietal species are expensive. So we are trembling over the pet, who was lucky enough to get into the home collection, trying to please her, in order to get an elegant bloom in response. How to take care of violets, because these ladies are capricious in nature, and react quickly and negatively to any violation of the regime?
To capriciously "bloom and smell", you need to take care of these nuances:
- pick them the right pot and soil mixture;
- choose a suitable place in the house for flowers:
- provide adequate lighting and comfortable temperature conditions;
- correctly and in time to water a bush;
- take care of plant nutrition.
What should be the ground and a pot for violets?
Violets have delicate roots, so the soil for them must be loose in order to let water and air through well. Ordinary garden soil does not suit them, it is too heavy and dense, does not breathe and dries out for a long time. In such a soil the roots will quickly rot and the flower will disappear.
The best option is to buy ready-made soil mixtures specifically for violets. They are in any flower shop, have a loose structure and already contain the necessary nutrients for flowers, which is enough for the first time.
As for the pot, the pot for the violet should be chosen small, otherwise the bush will actively grow the leaves, but the flowering will have to wait several years. The material from which the pot is made is not so important; the main thing is that there are drainage holes on the bottom.
Where to put the violet?
Lighting plays a major role in the development of the plant. With its lack of leaves stretched, and the bush is falling apart, so in a dark place you will need to install lighting lamps. An excess of light is also harmful and is fraught with the loss of delicate sheet plates of its color (especially for varieties with plain dark green leaves), and even threatens with burns. In this case, the flower should pritenyat.
On the east window-sill, the violet will be light and comfortable, while the window should not open, because it is afraid of a draft.
Violets grow well at temperatures ranging from 20 to 24 degrees Celsius. In winter, a slight decrease to 18 degrees is permissible, but no more, otherwise they will freeze.
How to water and feed?
Light soil dries out quickly enough and you need to follow this by adjusting regular watering and not allowing it to dry completely, but be careful not to partly, so that the violet does not rot.
You can water the bush in several ways:
- through the pallet;
- method of immersing the pot in the water;
- using wick irrigation.
Pouring water directly into the pot is also possible, but not advisable - there is a risk that the drops will fall into the outlet, and the violet does not like it.
Despite the fact that violets prefer good humidity, it is not recommended to spray fluffy leaves. It is better to install near a glass of water.
Like any floriferous plant, violet needs good nutrition. To do this, you need to use complex liquid preparations specifically for violets, making them twice a month in spring and autumn.
Paying violets a little attention, in gratitude, we get a lush outlet of beautiful shaggy leaves and fascinating flowering, and with proper care - also young bushes, which can be shared with friends.
