Today, home appliance stores offer various kitchen “helpers” to customers, whose main task is to make life as a modern person as easy as possible. In this case, a number of devices can not be called essentials. For example, it is quite possible to find alternative options for electric kettles, food processors and even microwaves. However, it is hardly possible in our time to imagine a kitchen where there would be no refrigerator.
Refrigerator is an indispensable attribute of any kitchen.
A large selection of models is able to satisfy the wishes of any buyer. Narrow models of refrigerators, whose width is up to 45 cm, are still highly demanded. Despite the fact that manufacturers mainly try to produce standard-format models (the average width of a conventional refrigerator is 60 cm), narrow refrigerators are presented in a decent range.
Features and benefits
Large and spacious kitchen - the dream of any hostess. However, dreams are dreams, but you have to be content with what is available. Kitchens in Khrushchev or in today's popular smart-apartments, they are quite compact. Therefore, it is necessary to consider a deliberate approach to the choice of kitchen furniture and various household appliances. Most of the space is usually reserved for the refrigerator. The unit, whose width averages 60 cm, takes quite a lot of space, which is not very much in the small-sized kitchen.
In order to somehow more efficiently use the available square meters, interior designers recommend to take a closer look at non-standard parameters refrigerators.
The width of narrow refrigerators is usually 10-15 cm less than normal. It makes no sense to produce more compact models, since even a saucepan with soup will not fit there. The reduction of one parameter is due to the increase of the other, otherwise the refrigerator will be unsuitable for use. Usually narrow aggregates have a greater depth or greater height.
How to choose
In today's market of household appliances, refrigerators up to 45 cm wide are represented mainly by single-chamber models. Only a few companies offer two-chamber refrigerators to the attention of buyers. To buy a two-chamber device of non-standard (in this case - reduced) width, you will have to spend a lot of time. Such models are not in demand among consumers, so they are rarely represented in large stores of large household appliances.
Narrow two-chamber refrigerators are not very convenient to use for the reason that they are not very large.
The most successful solution would be to purchase a separate refrigerator and a separate freezer, the latter, for example, can be built into a kitchen set or even installed somewhere in another room.
When choosing a narrow refrigerator, you should follow the same rules that are typical for standard models:
- refrigerating and freezing chambers - 2-in-1 or two separate home appliances;
- drip system or "no frost" - it is worth thinking about what is more convenient, practical, reliable and does not affect the operation of the device;
- availability of various additional functions, among which it is worth noting the possibility of regulating the temperature regime, locking the door from children, outwelling the door, the function "rapid cooling" and others;
- the quality of the material used reliability, lack of third-party odors;
- noise performance level (as is known, models with the "No Frost" system are noisier, because the compressor is almost always running in them);
- the amount of electricity consumed;
- value for money.
Popular brands
In home appliances stores, customers are offered a huge range of refrigerators of various configurations, parameters, colors and styles. As you know, the cost can be directly influenced by brand awareness. Non-standard models of refrigerators are presented in a narrower selection. For example, refrigerators, whose width varies in the range of 40-55 cm, are produced by such trademarks as Bosch, LG, Samsung, Ardo, Zanussi, Whirlpool, Liebherr, Gorenje, Electrolux and others. There are more budget options, the pricing policy of which is designed for middle-class consumers: Delfa, Beko, Atlant and "Saratov".
Price
It is erroneous to assume that if a household appliance is smaller in size, then its cost will be several times lower. Reality says it differently: narrow refrigerators are more expensive than standard models.
Manufacturing companies justify the high cost by the fact that the manufacture of refrigerators of non-standard parameters is more expensive in terms of production, such units also have less consumer demand. Alternatively, models with a less modernized package are offered, in which various additional functions may not be available.
Reviews
Refrigerators of non-standard sizes are less in demand than variants with a width of 60 cm. However, according to reviews, consumers are pleased with a good range of choices. Also, a lot of positive comments are found on the cost of such refrigerators. Despite the statistics, which states that any household appliance of non-standard dimensions is more expensive in the price segment, happy buyers of narrow refrigerators do not intend to overestimate the cost.
Refrigerators (in particular, we are talking more about single-chamber models) about 45 cm wide are more suitable for hotels, private hotels, boarding houses, hostels, offices, and even for student dormitories.
According to the recommendations of users, then such a plan aggregates are considered the best option for a dacha or a small family. Still, if the family is large, then such a fridge is impractical to use, since there is not enough food in it.
Regarding the various technical characteristics most often discussed issues of the level of noise and electricity consumption. However, these two criteria are in no way related to the dimensions of a household appliance; here it is worth talking about specific models of certain brands.
