What is characteristic of the kitchen in the English style?
The inhabitants of Albion are famous for their conservatism. They will not tolerate frills and innovations in their home, but will prefer time-tested furniture, remembering several previous generations. An English-style kitchen will become a real personification of restraint and nobility, as well as bring a classic British touch to a modern house or apartment.
English cuisine can not be confused with anything. Its first distinctive feature will be a special color scheme. Here, more than anything else, the British restraint is clearly visible. No contrasts, only muffled shades that support the coldness and sobriety of the mind.
In such an interior will often meet pastel colors - gray, milky, light olive, whitened lemon. This is the basis. They are usually complemented by more saturated, but still sustained in a similar style, calm colors:
- brown in all its manifestations;
- restrained burgundy;
- deep blue;
- mustard or dark olive.
A tree is necessarily added to any of the selected scales. It goes well with any color and any style. In addition, it is an integral part of the English interior. However, the materials will be discussed in the next subtitle. But before that - a photo of typical color solutions for the kitchen in England.

Everyone knows that the British do not exactly breathe to the tree. In the kitchen, it can be seen in the furniture, on the floor, on the ceiling, and on the walls. Parquet has always been an integral part of any English interior, whether it be a bedroom, living room or kitchen.
Tip: the kitchen's interior will change if the tiles on the floor are laid out as follows: in the center - bright milky colors, and the trim will be very dark brown or completely black. This will manifest a tribute to the English monumentality.
All the furniture in the kitchen - exclusively from wood. This is a typical oval dining table, preferably made of oak, and chairs with straight, clear lines, and cupboards with numerous ornate carvings.

Also, the kitchen in the English style does not tolerate a typical steel sink. It should be made entirely of ceramic or even stone. Often you can meet two shells, which is quite consistent with the practicality of the British.
If the kitchen is combined with the living room, which, by the way, is rare in England, you can talk about upholstered furniture. Rarely it can be a sofa corner. Most often it is the Chesterfield sofa, featuring a quilted back and armrests in the shape of scrolls. The upholstery on it is a good-quality smooth skin of discreet colors. However, in the English living room can be found an ordinary sofa with wooden legs, upholstered in thick fabric with floral patterns and complemented by numerous pillows of different sizes.
Any English interior is built on the laws of symmetry. Here everything is in its long-established and unshakable places. In the center, if dimensions allow, the “island” is located. This is a special working area, table or nightstand with a comfortable tabletop, on which the English hostesses are prepared. In the modern incarnation, it is transformed into a work zone on the one hand and a bar counter on the other.
Under the wall are cabinets and cabinets, shelves and household appliances. In general, everything in the kitchen should be at hand. But at the same time, the British do not save on space. If the oven - then with two ovens, if the table - then massive, at least six people. The entire interior of the kitchen utensils, however, as well as modern appliances, hides in the depths of wooden cabinets and cabinets. Next in the photo - examples of solid solid kitchen furniture, typical for England.

To implement such a large-scale layout, of course, you will need a room of impressive size. If this is not observed in the apartment, you can go to the trick: just tear down the wall between the kitchen and the living room. So there will be an additional place for the embodiment of the English style and the apartment itself, ironically, will be the closest to the modern standards of interior design.
In only one conservative British go back down. They are very kind to different kinds of trinkets. For the kitchen, knitted lace napkins, porcelain sets paraded in a massive cupboard, and indoor flowers became familiar. The style is complemented with ancient candlesticks and various statuettes of ethnic character.
The British do not like frills, but they can not be denied elegance. In the English-style kitchen, everything will be in place. There will be a refrigerator, and a modern stove, and even a dishwasher. But all this will be hidden from prying eyes behind wooden doors. As if the Victorian era itself never left the kitchen walls. Whether it is a small kitchen or a spacious one, which also takes over the functions of a living room, it will in everything reflect the spirit of luxurious restraint.
