Greetings
Yo people, this site is open for you to easily build and edit pages and sections. I've placed a bunch of sample content in here, some of which may be worth keeping, to give an idea of what has been useful elsewhere. Please email me if you have questions about this site. I'd like to encourage anyone with interest to help manage this site. It can only be as good as you make it.

If you're trying to raise healthy and confident children, we're on your side. Raising children is hard work. It can also be expensive. As a taxpayer and a steadfast parent, you've earned the help you need to make ends meet.

Who we are
Parent Power is a project of the Children's Alliance. We are a statewide advocacy organization working to improve the well-being of Washington's children. One way to do our job is to provide information you can use to get the help your family needs.

Help is available

  • Childcare subsidies.
  • Free or low cost health insurance.
  • Free or inexpensive school and summer meals for your children.
  • Food for your family.
  • Cash in hand through the Earned Income Tax Credit.
  • Scholarships for you or your children.
  • Cash for job expenses. Using Parent Power is easy
  • Start by clicking here for the Eligibility Wizard which asks a few questions about your family and your income. You don't need to tell us who you are. Your answers will tell you if your family looks qualified for childcare subsidies, free or low-cost health insurance, food assistance, and tax credits.

  • Next, the Wizard will show you where to go and how to get the help you look qualified for.
  • We hope Parent Power helps you get the publicly funded assistance you need and qualify for. Remember that if the State makes a determination that you don't agree with, you have a right to appeal that decision by asking for a fair hearing. Click here for complete information about fair hearings from the Northwest Justice Project.
